Medieval Faire

April 4-6, 2008

The annual FREE medieval fair in Norman, Oklahoma
produced by the University of Oklahoma and the City of Norman
and supported by the S.C.A. since the first Faire in 1976

The Barony of Namron was created as a result of an S.C.A. demonstration at the first Medieval Faire. We have returned the favor every year. The Barony coordinates an S.C.A. demo at Medieval Faire each year. Other nearby S.C.A. branches, our good neighbors, join in to make it happen. Other S.C.A. people travel from farther away simply to take part in this demo.

We wish to invite you to join us in Namron in April. Last year one third of one million people flowed through the Faire. That is a lot of people. The S.C.A. supplies about 150 to 200 people to man our corner of the Faire. We have fighting, arts & science displays, hands-on crafting, music, dancing, trebuchets, and just about anything else you can think of. And we need to cover three whole days.

Remember that this is a demo. We are in the public's eye and interacting with them. The fighters actually get to ham it up for an appreciative audience. Artists can talk about technique to people who have not already heard it a thousand times. Small children and full grown adults go away from this Faire with gleams in their eyes, recalling the examples we set by our chivalry.

Please let us know if there is something you wish to do. Or just show up and pitch in. There are some work days beforehand to get things repainted and restitched, or create the occasional new item.
